My name is Ethan Vandop, I am an aspiring sports journalist and a lifelong sports fan. Growing up in the lower mainland, sports have always played a big part in my life. Ever since I was a young child I have been fascinated with statistics and sports analysis. Whether it be writing down the stats following National Hockey League games to analyzing prospects, I have always enjoyed covering sports. I grew up watching and listening to many great sports journalists and broadcasters including the John Garrett, Elliot Friedman, Bob McKenzie, and Darren Dreger. Following these journalists for as long as I have not only has grown my interest in sports, but it has also inspired me to pursue a career in journalism. My goal is one day want to be able to follow in the footsteps of these journalists in order to expand and share my knowledge of sports with fans and my future colleagues, as well as inspire someone to one day do the same, as these journalists have inspired me.
My passion for sports is unrivaled, which is why I take great pride in my work but I am also welcoming and appreciative of criticism and areas where I can improve as a journalist. I am dedicated to providing informative and truthful analysis to sports fans across the world through social media, such as Instagram, X, YouTube, or TikTok. I value and understand the importance of journalism, especially in sports where fans rely on journalists to provide them with up-to-date information on their favorite teams or players. The world of sports journalism is a fast-paced, hardcore, and rapidly changing industry. This is why my ability to adapt quickly, my dedication to sacrifice in order to capitalize on my opportunities and grow as a journalist, and my problem-solving skills would prove valuable to any news organization.
